Marie’s World by Joe E. Legend and Kristal McKerrington

Marie’s World tells a tale of love gone wrong, of doing the right thing even if it hurts and how to survive when your world is turned upside down.

Famed dancer, actress and Reality TV star Marie returns from LA to her hometown in Scotland to escape the fall-out from the damaging revelations in her twin sister Layla’s thinly-disguised novel. As she attempts to rebuild her life and career with her partner Derek, Marie’s long-repressed memories and emotions come flooding to the surface, and she finds herself menaced by the world of her former husband, the only man she has ever truly loved and now her most dangerous adversary.

My thoughts:

The blurb of this book sounded interesting so when I got offered to review this book I jumped on it.

The beginning of the book was a little confusing to me, to many characters and to many events being recalled in order to get the reader up so speed to the story I suppose. But I found it rather confusing it was just a little too much cramped into the first chapter for my liking.

After that it slowed down a bit and you could start getting into the story about Marie and how she is trying so hard to deal with the past, while living in the present and the problems at hand.

Marie didn’t come over as a very strong character at first but she grew stronger as the book went on.  Though there were moments where I found it hard to connect with Marie.

Overall, I though the book was okay and a good story. While I was not a huge fan of the writing style, I enjoyed it and read through it rather fast.

I’m sure there are many people that would enjoy this book than me , I’m not saying it is a bad book, it is a good book , it was just not for me this time.

I rate it at 2 ½ ★.
