Getting Lucky Number Seven by Cindi Madsen

23262672What’s your lucky number?

Lyla Wilder is done being the shy, chemistry nerd extraordinaire. While every other college student is out having fun, Lyla is studying. With her cat. Well, she’s played it “safe” quite enough, thank you. So she creates a “College Bucket List”―with item #7 being a night of uninhibited, mind-blowing sex…

But she needs some help from her man-whore best friend.

Hockey player Beck Davenport thought Lyla’s transformation would be subtle. Man, was he wrong. With every item she ticks off, Beck finds himself growing seriously hot for his sweet, brainiac best friend. And if he’s not careful, he’ll end up risking their friendship in order to convince Lyla that he might just be her lucky #7…

My thoughts:

This was another great book by Cindi Madsen. I just love her books and writing style and I can always count on her books to bring a smile to my face.

Like most of her books, this book was funny, romantic, fast paced and steamy but never over the top. It also has some realistic feel to it.

The book was written in dual POVs , Lyla and Beck and I just loved them both. By themselves they were great, Lyla is smart, nerdy, funny and just needs some fun in her life. It was great seeing her get more confident and having fun. She learned and grew quite a bit throughout the book. It was really easy to like and connect with her.

The same goes for Beck, while he had plenty of fun in his life, things are about to change for him as he has to follow the father’s footsteps for the company they own. I just loved his humor and confidence and loved following him as he discovered he might have more feeling for Lyla than just being friends. But he fights it, not to ruin the friendship they have.

But together they made an awesome team as friends and later as lovers but neither want to have relationship because they are afraid it would ruin their friendship.

Overall it was a great read, that made me laugh, cry and swoon sometimes a bit frustrated with them as well though, because it was clear what they both want but neither admitted it to each other.

If you are a fan of Cindi Madsen and/or contemporary romance you really should give this book a try.

I rate it at 4 ½ ★
