Eli Covington erased all traces of his cowboy upbringing to become a high-powered attorney. Then his father dies, and his brothers need him to rescue the family ranch. So, after fourteen years, Eli returns to the life he left behind and the one woman he can’t resist.
Veterinarian Reagan Matthews was furious with Eli for leaving her all those years ago, and yet she was never quite able to let him go. Their attraction is as incendiary as ever, and Eli is very good at stoking the flames. But Eli doesn’t belong in her world, any more than Reagan belongs in his. So until Eli leaves for good, why not take her pleasure where she can? Pleasure only her cowboy can provide.
This is one of those books that I absolutely loved. I loved the story, the characters and the pace of the book.
Everything came together really great and made it for an awesome read. I read the book I one sitting, while it of course has a predictable HEA, I couldn’t put the book down. I needed to see what happens next and how it will happen.
I’m a sucker for romance novels that have characters that already once loved each other but then got separated for whatever reason. But eventually find their way back to each other.
This is no different in this book. Once a couple and very much in love, Eli left town to find something better to him, something that would make him feel better and make him feel like he belongs. Of course for that he left Reagan behind, the girl he loved.
Fourteen years later he returns to settle the some estate issues with his fathers will, he has no intention to stay.so much has changed since he left, the ranch, the family, the girl has grown into stunning woman. Once thing has not changed, his feeling for her.
Of course a lot has changed for Reagan as well since Eli left town 14 years ago. She now is an adult became a vet and married, but lost her husband 3 years ago. She is shocked and not happy to see Eli returning to town. Because she never really stopped loving him and can’t take anymore hurt, than she already has In her life.
I really enjoyed their story of reconnecting and healing old wounds. Learning to love and trust again. Which can be hard in a small town setting.
I loved both characters. Both were really straight forward and funny, but both also needed to heal. Though I wanted to smack Reagan towards the end, she seemed stubborn and wouldn’t think it all the way through . Though she had no idea of what really was at stake, so I cut her some slack.
I also enjoyed, his brothers and CAN NOT wait for their stories to be told. Cade was my favorite brother and I’m sitting on pins and needle to see what is in store for him. Even if that means I have to share him.
Overall really loved this book and I rate it at 4 ½ ★
